| THE FIRST PLASTIC MOLD BUILD |
|
|
Pictured above are William Mai, Clinton Kearney, J. Robert Horney and Henry Romanowski with the first completed plastic mold made in the B&D Mold Making Section.
Built with the cooperation of the Tool Room under George Seyboth, this mold produces a baffle fan for the All-Insulated Sander and Grinder units.
The newly established Plastics Engineering Department is headed by Henry Romanowski, who came to Black & Decker from Consolidated Molded Products Corporation of Scranton, Penn. and has over 20 years of experience in the mold design, mold making and plastic molding industry.
William Mai, mold Maker Leadman, and Clinton Kearney, Model Maker—both of whom recently transferred from the Experimental section—were the builders of the mold. Robert Horney, transferred from Tool Process, is the designer of the mold.
The other two members of the Plastic Engineering Department—not present for the picture—are Wilson Adkins, Plastic Liaison Engineer, and Don Pulket, Industrial Engineer, who is handling the compression molding at the Hampstead plant.
